Historic Harbor Accommodations

Ambassadors Residence Boutique Hotel occupies a 19th-century neoclassical building on Chania's Venetian harbor. The 13 rooms and suites are themed after materials traded by former owner Ambassador Krüger, including porcelain, wood, glass, and metal. All accommodations feature air conditioning, flat-screen satellite TVs, minibars, free WiFi, and views of either the Cretan Sea, Venetian harbor, or Old Town streets. Upper-floor suites include roof terraces with harbor panoramas, and some rooms have spa baths or connecting options for families.

Harbor View Breakfast

Breakfast is served at a café down from the hotel with harbor views. It includes fresh orange juice, good coffee, a selection of hot dishes, fresh fruit, cold cuts, bread, and cakes. A Cretan option features dakos (rusk with tomato and cheese), local olives, and regional cheeses.

Old Town Exploration Base

The hotel fronts Chania's café-lined Venetian harbor, a 700-year-old port with a lighthouse directly opposite. It is an easy walk to the Maritime Museum of Crete, Nautical Museum, Venetian Lighthouse, and Municipal Market. Parking is available on Agiou Markou Street and St Titus Square, both half a mile away. Souda is 15 km from the property. The unevenly paved stone streets require careful navigation with wheeled luggage.

Limited Service Offerings

A 24-hour front desk and shared lounge are available. Daytime staff provide basic assistance, while the night receptionist offers more accommodating service. The property has a luggage lift and wheelchair ramp for guests with mobility issues. No bottled water is provided on arrival, and staff do not assist with luggage. Each room is named and decorated after materials Ambassador Krüger traded in the 19th century, including cement, ceramics, fabric, and mosaic tiles. The design incorporates bare stone walls, wooden beams, and recycled materials alongside modern amenities like smart TVs, Nespresso machines, and rainfall showers. The building's history is evident throughout, with high ceilings, large windows, and thematic elements reflecting Krüger's role in Chania's economic development.
